That's what I'll call it.
I was up at Boulder Reservoir for CJ's camp parents day, which was canoeing day. CJ "taught" me how to canoe. The lesson lasted about 4 minutes. Then he spotted a struggling ladybug in the bottom of the canoe...dropped his paddle and from then on his only concern getting that wet ladybug to land. So, I did some canoeing today.
I threw some random stuff in the back of the car for hiking in case I felt like going up something in Boulder afterward. I had a gyro quick with Chad then headed over to the Flatirons.
What to do? There's not much of anything all that interesting to HIKE there, mostly rock climbing...so I opted for Green Mountain. At least I could summit SOMETHING. I think it's 8,144 ft. Well, all I can say is that was quite an unpleasant hike. bugs. heat. I only had 1 liter of water and it was about 90 degrees. Boring woods hiking. I did get a good hiney workout in, since it's about 3,049 big lunge-inducing steps to the top. I flat out laughed when I got to the top, saw the weird pillar thing, and saw that there's a TUBE to sign the register at the top. Well, I signed it. I had my iPhone but decided it was not worth my iPhone memory to take a pic. There was a nice view of the real mountains from the top, but I was distracted by the 1,000,000 ladybug orgy that was in full swing at the top and had to leave after about 3 minutes and having ladybugs enter both my ear and mouth. Now I can say I've been there...never to return...
