We have been watching the Lifeline Puppy Rescue website for a while for a mix we'd want. The kids had sports events that I knew I could not tolerate (Cam was on hot turf soccer fields in Broomfield for a tourney and CJ had a bike race in Winter Park) So I was on my own. I rallied the troops after the late night at the concert and went yesterday morning to see if I could land a lab/shepherd mix like Joey was. It is much more competitive at this place than way back when we got Joey there. People show up really early and they hand out numbers. I showed up at 8:50 for opening at 11:00 and I still got #7. I told myself that if she was there, she was meant to be my doggie. And she was...she had 2 brothers and 1 sister in the pen with her, and she was the only one left sitting there looking up at me with my #7. I knew she was my girl...She's only 9 weeks old and is truly a baby. She stealth pees and craps everywhere when you're not looking for like 5 seconds. She bites everything. She has no idea WTF she is doing and runs around like a spazzy idiot. Madi is pretty mad about the whole thing and just growls at her all day. Impressively, she has held her own against Madi and does not submit. It's like she knows that she'll be able to kick Madi's ass in about 3 months. She's got little fat puppy belly and puppy skunk breath... She's probably a large part of the reason I ended up in the ER, it was too much activity for one day...But oh well, I love her. It was worth it.
